This course is for experienced Acupuncturists who want to learn new skills and evolve to the next level of practice: comprehensive family care.
Are you ready to evolve? From treating fertility to pregnancy and post natal care … what’s next for you?
This course is a must if you have children in your family. Not only will you learn how to treat children, it will broaden your understanding of conditions that you see in your adult patients – allowing you to conduct more in-depth assessment about their personal, family and medical history.
By treating children – you improve your clinical outcomes with ALL your patients!
Plus, when you treat children, you attract their family networks to your practice: parents, cousins and grandparents – your practice naturally expands by word of mouth referrals because children respond so well to acupuncture and changes in diet.
I embarked on Julian's paediatric diploma having a 3 year old and another one on the way. I thought I would just do part 1 to gain a few tips to treat my own children. It turned out to be so much more than that and I completed the end of the diploma distance learning so I know how effective it is to also do it online. In the 4 years that I have been treating children there have been some astonishing results of conditions that I would not have had the confidence to treat were it not for Julian. And my first paediatric patient is now training as an acupuncturist herself as the results for her were life changing. With a 7, 5 and 3 year old ourselves now, we have chucked out the calpol, the thermometer and have the confidence to say no to antibiotics and immunisations, and all my children are happy for me to treat them and my eldest even asks for acupuncture when she is unwell, so I can't recommend the course highly enough

In addition, in this module we discuss chronic diarrhoea, the most common form in the clinic, and how to treat it with acupuncture and dietary advice.

This module is the last in this five-part series and covers two important topics: insomnia and enuresis (bed wetting).
Insomnia in babies and children is very common and Acupuncturists are frequently asked to help. Parents kept awake by their children are often desperate to try anything, as they themselves are exhausted. Nocturnal Enuresis is described as involuntary and repeated passage of urine during sleep. It is very common in young children.
The age when it is considered to be a real problem depends on the child and the parents, usually when the child starts to spend time away from home staying with friends when it is then an embarrassment. With virtually no western medical cure, acupuncture is an effective solution.
Something which makes this module very different from most other teaching is that it covers the prognosis - will the acupuncture work, and what are the favorable and unfavorable signs/situations.
- Understand the underlying causes of insomnia in babies and children
- Learn how to effectively treat childhood insomnia while coaching parents with the best strategies
- Understand Nocturnal Enuresis from a TCM perspective and how best to manage it
- Learn how important the family dynamic and home environment is and the impact on a family with a child who suffers from bed wetting and insomnia

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does an online course work?
A: An online course is very similar to a ‘face to face’ presentation where a group of practitioners assemble in a venue and listen to a presentation. The only significant differences between an online course and a face-to-face presentation is that online course participants don’t share the same physical location as the presenter.
This ‘virtual’ attendance is particularly advantageous for practitioners who live in provincial towns or in semi-isolated locations and other circumstances where attending face to face events is challenging. The online arena also facilitates experts from other countries sharing their expertise internationally, without geographical barriers.
