Course Description

CORE MODULES

Module 1 (Safety): Burnout Prevention Strategies for Acupuncturists

Instructor: Isobel Cosgrove (UK)

Duration: 2 hours

Category: Professional Issues: Safety

The professional journey of an acupuncturist is not clearly mapped out. Working for ourselves can be exciting and inspiring. We can form our own agendas, use our own creativity, and build our own individual dreams. At the same time we need to use this excitement to move in the right direction, and at the right speed for us. Too quickly can lead to burnout, too slowly can mean fadeout. How do we stay motivated, maintain an even pace that works for us, individually? How can we stay connected to others, and avoid isolation, which undermines good, ethical practice management? This webinar offers practical guidance in building sustainable, nourishing practices while helping you lay foundations for a successful lifelong acupuncture practice.

Module 2 (Ethics): A Review of Ethical Clinical Practice - Running a Successful Acupuncture Business

Instructor: Amanda Shayle (UK)

Duration: 2 hours

Category: Professional Issues: Ethics

Many countries around the world require acupuncturists to undertake compulsory training in ethics. A code of ethics is a framework for approaching patient care and best clinical practice, while fulfilling legal obligations. While good conduct is a given for any health professional, the reality is that working in the community can lead to situations where the best way to proceed may not be clear. This webinar covers a huge range of situations that an acupuncturist may face, and how to approach it – in accordance with the NCCAOM’s code of ethics.

Duality and Oneness: Overcoming Professional Struggles Expert Panel and Guided Meditation

Dr Yair Maimon

Dr Maimon is driven by a desire to understand human suffering – why illness occurs, why we inflict suffering on others and most importantly, why we inflict suffering on ourselves?

Dr Maimon believes that every patient has a deep-seated belief in why they have their condition, and that until we identify what that is, we will only ever be guessing ourselves. Meaningful shifts can only occur when you have reached the patient on a deep Shen level, engaging with their subconscious belief about their health and illness.

He has developed strategies for getting to the root of the issue within a few short minutes. These techniques have evolved after years of concurrently holding the Head positionsin several research and teaching hospitals.

He is the former Dean and Co-founder of the largest TCM collage in Israel, Director of a program in Chinese medicine for Medical Doctors at a University; Lecturer of Medical Psychology at Tel Aviv University; Head of the complementary medicine unit at the Tel Aviv hospital, and involved in research and the treatments in an in and outpatient hospital setting.

Dr. Maimon’s teaching is inspired from a deep understanding of Chinese medicine and insights to the Shen’s influences on trauma, anguish, pain and healing.

Dr Yaron Seidman

Yaron is a Chinese Medicine fertility specialist, having practiced and researched in the field for the past 25 years.  He is an international teacher and lecturer, and founder of the Hunyuan Fertility Method which now has branches all over the world.

In addition to his teaching commitments, he is an author as well as an associate researcher at Harvard University. Despite accolades as long as your arm, Yaron is deeply humble about his success. He is driven by a true desire to evolve traditional medicine and integrate it into contemporary society. His desire to unearth the truth has lead him to continue to dig deeper into the richness of Chinese Medicine, back to its original roots. This knowledge and insight he shares openly, which is how he has come to be so well know and well liked.
